Compare open area without forgetting service life
More open area can allow more material to pass through, but the mesh shape, wire and support also determine how long a deck lasts.

Long openings require extra attention
On the left is a deck of 2.5 × 30 mm and on the right is a deck of 2.5 × 70 mm. In this practical example, the 2.5 × 70 deck was already broken despite vigorous tightening. The longer the free wire between the cross wires, the more it can move and the more sensitive the deck usually becomes to breakage.

Open area is not the same as production
Moisture, material form, load, machine setting and caking determine how many tons per hour are actually processed. Use the percentage to compare specifications.
