The wear pattern often tells where things go wrong

Record the location and pattern of the break. That information helps with checking tension, support bars, impact and specification.

The wear pattern often tells where things go wrong

Read the wear pattern

These signals often point in one direction. Check the machine and mounting before choosing just a heavier wire.

01

Wires breaking on support bars

Possible causes are too little tension, poor contact with the beam or worn support rubber. Check the prescribed voltage for your machine make and model.

02

Break in the middle of the free field

Look for impact, long free threads, overload and thread or material choice.

03

Damage along the edge

Check fit, side seal, hook direction and whether the deck can move during operation.

04

Evenly thin and flat

This more often appears to be normal wear and tear. Record the operating hours so that you can compare service life between specifications.

Check before a new deck

01

Record the pattern

Take an overview photo while the deck is still in place.

02

Check tension

View whether the deck is tight and whether the tensioning device pulls evenly.

03

View support bars

Check rubber, height, contact and wear across the full width.

04

Compare the specification

Look at mesh shape, long opening, thread, hook and material.

Not every brand is tensioned the same

Follow the machine manufacturer's instructions. Please provide make, model and year of manufacture if you want us to look at the fracture pattern.

Send the wear pattern

Send an overview photo, a photo of the fracture and a photo of the contact with the support beam. Also include brand, model and year of manufacture.
